Jujutsu
Primary Activities

Jujutsu is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed opponent in which one uses no weapon. One essential characteristic of Jujutsu is using leverage and proper methods against an opponent’s weight and strength, utilizing the momentum against them. Once the primary principle of Jiu jitsu is learned, they can be used to defeat a stronger and larger adversary. Some of the techniques taught in Jujutsu includes striking, throwing, restraining by pinning and strangling, joint locks, weaponry and grappling.
Even though Jujutsu started in Japan, it became widely practised in Brazil after a Japanese immigrant in the early 20th century taught it to several local men. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling martial art that, at first glance it closely resembles a mix of judo and wrestling. It is one of the most effective martial arts for self-defense and has been integrated into many programs around the world.
